In May of 2024, the northern lights (aurora borealis) were able to be seen in Kansas and Missouri.  This was an extremely rare event and the last time such an event was forecast was in 2005 (as issued by the Space Weather Prediction Center).  I really wanted to capture a scene that showed the rarity of seeing the aurora in the heartland, so I traveled to the country around midnight and shot this with silhouette of a cabin and a water tower.  The camera catches the  colors of the aurora much better than the human eye and I was thrilled to see the colors at development.  Framed with a minimalistic black metal frame so the colors pop.

A Note On Frames:

Please know that at times I use refurbished frames for some of my photographs.  This allows me to keep prices more affordable on some pieces and recycles materials.  This means there may be very slight imperfections in the frames.  They are very minor, hardly noticeable and in many cases on the back of the frame so are not forward facing.  If one of my pieces is in such a frame (bonus if you get an antique one!), pictures of any imperfections will be posted with the piece.  I feel it is important to be totally transparent regarding my practice of recycling frames.  Thank you for helping me take care of our Earth.
